Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-01-27

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StatIO (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Operator

StatIO is operated by Bytescale LLC ("Bytescale"). The Service is available at statio.net. References to "StatIO", "we", "us", or "our" refer to Bytescale LLC.

1. The Service

StatIO provides monitoring capabilities such as HTTP/TCP/ICMP/DNS/SSL checks, push monitors, reporting, dashboards, and alerting. Some features may be offered in beta, may change over time, or may be limited by plan or technical constraints.

2. Accounts and access
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account, including actions by users you authorize.
  • You must provide accurate information and keep your login methods and credentials secure.
  • You may not use the Service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive activities.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, attempt to disrupt it, reverse engineer it (except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by law), or access it using automated means that unreasonably burden the system.

Permission required. You may only monitor networks, systems, endpoints, domains, IP addresses, and services that you own or that you have explicit authorization to test/monitor. Monitoring without permission from the owner (including scanning, probing, or attempting to access third-party networks/services) is explicitly forbidden.

You are responsible for any content or configuration you provide to the Service (including monitor targets, headers, payloads, credentials, and any data emitted via push monitors).

Report abuse or unauthorized monitoring: abuse@statio.net

4. Bring-your-own-worker (BYOW)

If you deploy your own workers, you are responsible for their environment, configuration, and compliance with applicable policies and laws. Workers typically communicate outbound to StatIO over HTTPS; you control what they monitor and the networks they run in. You are responsible for ensuring your BYOW deployment and monitoring targets are authorized.

5. Billing and payments

Paid plans, if offered, are billed through Stripe as our payment processor. Your payment information is handled by Stripe and is subject to Stripe’s terms and privacy practices.

You authorize recurring charges according to your selected plan until you cancel. Taxes may apply depending on your location and applicable law.

6. Data, content, and monitoring results

The Service stores monitor configuration and results to provide dashboards, analytics, and alerting.

You retain ownership of your content that you provide to the Service. You grant StatIO a license to host, process, transmit, and display that content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

StatIO may generate aggregate operational insights (for example, service-level reliability metrics) to operate and improve the Service. StatIO will use commercially reasonable efforts to respect customer privacy to the fullest extent.

7. Third-party services

The Service may rely on third-party providers to operate (for example: cloud infrastructure, email delivery, authentication/identity providers, analytics, and payment processing). Your use of such third-party services may be subject to their terms and privacy policies. StatIO is not responsible for third-party outages or failures outside our control.

8. Availability and limitations

StatIO aims to be reliable, but the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Monitoring results can be affected by third-party networks, DNS, routing, provider outages, rate limits, and other factors outside StatIO’s control.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. StatIO may suspend or terminate access at any time, for any reason, including to protect the Service, enforce these Terms, or comply with law.

If StatIO terminates your paid subscription immediately without providing continued access for the remainder of a paid billing period, StatIO will provide a prorated refund for the unused portion of that billing period, unless termination was due to fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity (in which case refunds may be denied to the extent permitted by law).

10. Changes

StatIO may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
